I’ve been doing quite a lot of shopping at Sephora lately, all thanks to the annual 20% off sale. Other than a bunch of beauty staples that I repurchase regularly, I have also branched out to brands and products I haven’t tried before so I will be sharing what I got in this post. Stay tuned over the next couple of months because I will also be reviewing them! (And let’s hope my mom doesn’t see this post or I’ll be getting a long-distance call from Hong Kong about money-management… Oops.)
Glamglow: Supermud Clearing Treatment ($79) – I’m actually a little surprised that it took me so long to purchase this cult favourite product! It’s known to be an extremely effective and potent mud mask that can improve skin problems like blemishes, redness, scars, enlarged pores, oiliness, etc. It’s basically an all-in-one catch-all treatment mask that’s perfect for anyone with problematic skin like me! I love that it has activated charcoal and different acids in it since I know these are ingredients that work well with my skin. Excited to try this out!
Tatcha: Bestsellers Set ($72) – Not gonna lie, the first time I was introduced to Tatcha, I was taken away by their stunning packaging! It’s friggin BEAUTIFUL! It’s luxurious yet simple, and I love anything with gold accents. With that said, I’ve also heard amazing things about this brand and their products. This line is inspired by thetimelessbeauty ritual used by geishas to reveal brighter, smoother, baby-soft skin that gleams with purity. The set comes with the pure one step camellia cleansing oil, the polished classic rice enzyme powder, the supple moisture rich silk cream, and the luminous dewy skin mist in very generous trial sizes. With such gorgeous packaging, I must say, this set is such an amazing value.
Josie Maran: Nourishing Argan Oil Skincare Collection ($60) – I am kind of cheating with this set because I have actually tried a sample of the 100% pure argan oil before. As someone with oily skin, I don’t normally reach for very nourishing and rich oils. For my body, sure, not for my face. But I remember trying the sample two winters ago and it made my skin crazy soft! What I love about this set is that the argan oil is actually full-size. It normally retails for $60 on its own, so everything else that comes in the set is basically free! The other products that come in the set include: argan cleansing oil, pure argan milk intensive hydrating treatment, and whipped argan oil face butter. Everything is in a very generous trial size and I think they would make such awesome stocking stuffers as well!
Kate Somervile: Blemish Banisher Kit ($68) – I used to watch a lot of beauty videos on Youtube and I remember Kate Somerville was highly recommended by so many beauty vloggers when it comes to acne and scarring. My skin hasn’t been behaving very well lately, all thanks to my crappy diet and sleep schedule… I’m determined to fix my unhealthy lifestyle very soon but as of now, a kit like this is just what I need! This set comes with the DTX daily cleanser, Exfolikate for acne prone skin, Eradikate, and the oil free moisturizer. All these products are meant for acne prone / oily skin and I cannot wait to introducing them into my routine.
Laneige: Brightening Kit ($18) – Growing up in Asia, I have heard the name Laneige on TV commercials ever since I was a little girl. It’s probably the most popular Korean skincare brand out there and I’m sure it’s for good reasons! At $18, you’re looking at products that are quite small, but still enough for you to test things out for a week. The kit comes with the multi cleanser, the bright renew original serum, the bright renew original cream, and the water sleeping mask. I’m most excited about the water sleeping mask because I’ve seen so many amazing reviews online, but I’m sure the rest of the products are great too!
Tria: Hair Removal Laser 4X + SmoothStart Calming Gel ($515) – Trust me, I have contemplated months after months whether I should buy this during the VIB sale since it’s really expensive even with the discount. For some odd reason, I was feeling extra generous one day so I pulled the trigger! Yay! The Tria Hair Removal Laser 4X uses diode laser technology and it claims to be the only at-home laser hair removal system on the market to deliver permanent results. I’m sure it’s an amazing device but honestly, all I want is to remove hair permanently at the comfort of my own home. I absolutely hated going to the clinic for my laser sessions because I was so embarrassed by my low pain tolerance. (Tearing up and screaming while trying to get hairless was not a cute look!) I’ve read many reviews and I know already that this device works well with my skin/hair combo (light-medium skin, dark hair), so I’m really excited to try this out! PS: This particular set comes with the SmoothStar Calming Gel as a free gift! Awesome.
Thank you so much for reading such a long post! Did you make good use of the Sephora VIB sale to purchase some new products to try like, or did you play it safe and only purchased products that you already love? Share with me in the comments section below!
