To those who didn’t know, it was Canadian thanksgiving this past weekend. (Happy thanksgiving to those who celebrated!) So I thought I would talk about a makeup collection from the first Canadian beauty brand that I was introduced to – Lise Watier. They have collaborated with ELLE for this Fall 2017 collection called Weekender and the white marble and rose gold packaging has captured my heart like none other.
(Heads up: When I received these products from Lise Watier, everything was actually already sold out online. But this collection is just too beautiful that I really want to document it on the blog. If you’re really interested, try your luck on eBay or in-stores!)
I was first introduced to Lise Watier back in the days when Michelle Phan was just starting out. She swore by the “Colour Wheel” and used it in most of her makeup tutorials. I’m not sure if they have reformulated it since the early 2000s (I remember it was pretty good but there are so many more corrector palette choices these days) but I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of all the products I got to try out from the Weekender collection.
Let’s start with eyes! This gorgeous Palette Weekender (48CAD) comes with 6 eyeshadow shades (1 pop of blue + 5 neutrals) in different finishes. With a creamy powder formula, these colours are really buttery and easy to blend. They are not the most pigmented shadows but I really love the colour range and how versatile the palette is – the light cream shade is perfect for highlighting the brow bone and the deep brown makes it so easy to intensify any look. And you can never go wrong with including a fun pop of colour in a palette!
To go with the eyeshadows, the Intense Waterproof Eyeliner (23CAD) glides on like a dream and does not budge once it dries down. When I say it doesn’t budge, it really doesn’t budge. This lovely burgundy shade seamlessly adds some fall/winter interest to any boring, neutral look in seconds! I also tried out the Ombre Velours Suprême (26CAD) in Maple Velour. It’s actually a complementary product for this collection so it’s not limited edition (yay!) and I highly, highly recommend you check it out. It’s a very blendable, no-fuss single cream shadow that you can wear on its own or under powder shadow. I’ve really been loving a light wash of burgundy on my lids to amp up my everyday look.
Last but not least, a lipstick with the most Instagrammable white marble and rose gold packaging. The Rouge Gourmand Lipstick (25CAD) is a rich and creamy lipstick in a classic nude brown. It’s very moisturizing and that really helps conceal the look of lip lines. It’s a little bit too brown for me to wear it on its own so I like to pair it with lighter nudes to create the look of a pouty, fuller lip.
I know it really sucks that I’m showing you products that you probably cannot get your hands on and I really apologize for that. But if we were to get a lesson out of this, it would be always keeping your eyes peeled for all things Lise Watier. This collection really opened my eyes to how great the quality is – everything from the stunning packaging to the actual products themselves. The Ombre Velours Suprême is such a great item and I’m now starting to eye other complimentary products from this collection. (Such as this beautiful face palette!) I’m so happy I rediscovered this brand and I’m so ready to dive in and try out more products from their regular lineup. Have you tried anything from Lise Watier? If you have, let me know what they are and what your favourite item is!
