This radiance-restoring serum ($50) is tailored to people in their 20s to 30s who start to notice that their skin doesn’t recover from stress as easily as it once did, a.k.a. me. On top of getting your glow on, this serum claims to also refine texture, shrink pores, and blur imperfections, giving you fresher, brighter and smoother skin altogether. That’s a lot of promises from just a bottle of serum, so does it really do all that?
To start, the pink bottle looks lovely on my vanity, and the pump keeps things hygienic, so it gets an A for packaging! As for the texture, as you can see in the photo, it’s a thick gel. Normally, I use about 2-3 pumps (1 pump shown in the photo) to cover my entire face and sometimes my neck. It glides on really smoothly and has a fresh citrusy scent that goes away after a few seconds. The serum feels nourishing enough that if you have oily skin like me, you won’t even need a moisturizer over this serum in the warmer months. But if you have dry skin, you will definitely need a moisturizer to top it off during winter.
After about 3-4 weeks of use, I actually haven’t really seen any difference in terms of radiance, which was a little bit disappointing at first. But I did notice that my skin felt a lot smoother after each application and that it helped with minimizing the look of flaws and pores. Which is why I started using it only in the mornings – it makes a perfect canvas for make up! It really softens the skin and allows make up application to be much smoother. Sometimes on my good skin days, it even helps give an airbrushed look!
Overall, I really like the serum even though it doesn’t do everything it claims on my skin. I know the main active ingredients are Canadian Willowherb and Persian silk tree extract, which are known for their anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, but I really don’t see a difference in radiance and I don’t know how well it works in terms of fighting blemishes during the day. But the fact that it has skincare properties and acts as a primer for flawless make up application is a win in my books! Have you tried this serum and what are your thoughts? Let me know!
