REVIEW | *MIYU Beauty – hydrate mi deluxe pairing

If you know me in person, you’ll know I’m a tea lover. Which is why when I discovered MIYU Beauty, I fell in love immediately. They’re an eco-luxe beauty brand that offers natural tea and skincare blends that help protect your skin and unveil your inner glow, so you can achieve beauty from within. I have been trying out their hydrate mi deluxe pairing for a couple of weeks now and have been really enjoying it! It comes with premium loose tea leafs, tea filters, and a beauty essence.

First of all, just take a look – their packaging is absolutely stunning! I love seeing the products on my vanity and kitchen counter because of how pretty they are. With the beauty essence and tea meant to be used in tandem, each pairing (they have 2 different ones) addresses a specific lifestyle/skin concern. The hydrate mi deluxe pairing I’ve been using is meant to quench dehydrated complexions and leave the skin dew-kissed.

Let’s start with the tea. It’s actually one of the most delicious teas I’ve ever tried and I’m not exaggerating. Generally speaking, I’m not picky with teas because I grew up drinking all types of Chinese teas and nothing is ever too bitter for me. But the hydrate mi beauty tea is light and fruity, without tasting artificial or sickly sweet. Made with a blend of green rooibos, goji berries, and pear, it helps stimulate collagen production, fight free radicals, and promote dewy youthful skin. It’s also caffeine-free, so I like to drink it after dinner as a “dessert” slash before-bed tea. I can’t be 100% sure how great it works as “skincare” because it all dials down to diet, sleep, and everything else, but I do feel well-hydrated in the morning after drinking the tea the night before. The tea filters it comes with are also very high quality so I thought I’d give that a shout.

As for the essence, it’s an advance serum mist that deeply hydrates, tones, and primes the face for moisturizer. It’s formulated with wild pansies to boost hydration, and goji berries and mangosteen to provide potent antioxidant protection to banish age-accelerating free radicals. Since this is a serum mist, it’s a lot lighter than a regular serum. It’s meant to be misted onto the the face before moisturizer, or anytime of the day as a boost of hydration. I find product itself to be quite hydrating, but I prefer something a little bit stronger or more substantial to go under my moisturizer, so I prefer using it during the day for a quick mist when my skin is feeling a little bit dry. However, one thing I didn’t like about it is the nozzle that comes with the essence. It doesn’t give a super fine mist and the first 1-2 spritzes are always a little bit blotchy. When I had foundation on, it left little droplets on my face *sad face* After I learnt my lesson, I kept it on my desk in my home office as a mid-day pick-me-up type when I’m not wearing any make up at all, and it works amazing.

All in all, I think MIYU Beauty has a lot to offer and I think this hydrate mi deluxe pairing (55USD) would make such an amazing gift for Mother’s Day. I like that their products are suitable for all skin types and all their formulas are free of parabens, phthalates, sulphates, synthetic dyes and synthetic fragrances. I also love that they’re cruelty-free! I really think they are a really cool lifestyle brand that deserves more buzz online so be sure to check them out here!
