I’m not adventurous when it comes to fragrances i.e. cult favourites like Chanel’s Mademoiselle and Dior’s J’adore are my go-to scents. So when I had a chance to try a niche fragrance brand, I was so excited! CLEAN Reserve is a luxury fragrance collection housed under the CLEAN franchise. They believe in sustainable beauty, blended with raw ingredients for a unique fragrance experience that encourage individuality. I mean, just look at that bottle – isn’t it simple yet unique?
With spring finally here, I have been wearing CLEAN Reserve’s Citron Fig for the last couple of weeks. I normally go for feminine fragrances that are floral, fruity or powdery, which is why it was so different for me to wear something that’s fresh, citrusy, and musky altogether! I’m not the best at describing scents and I don’t want to butcher it, so let’s go for the official description first: the fragrance captivates the refreshing scent of the Mediterranean breeze with a sparkling top of green fig, fresh ginger and lemon oil. The heart is exotic and the back adds contrast with creamy sandalwood and solar musks. In my words, what this scent says is that you’re in Greece for a getaway, enjoying a citrusy cocktail or two at an outdoor bar. And since this is an Eau de Parfum, it lasts on me all day and I love that with just two spritz, it can transport you from rainy, gloomy Toronto to beautiful, sunny Mykonos.
- Top Notes: Fig, Ginger, Lemon Oil
- Middle Notes: Cardamom, Mandarin, Mint, Copaiba
- Base Notes: Sandalwood, Cedar Wood, Musk
CLEAN also uses sustainable ingredients to create this beautiful scent. The Cardamom and Copaiba are sourced from local suppliers in Guatemala and Brazil to guarantee that local farmers earn a higher profit and a steady income. Their team also work directly with communities while providing them with technical and financial support. It’s rare to see companies so supportive of sustainability and I love that about CLEAN.
