It was the Nordstrom Fall Beauty Trend Week last week and I was lucky enough to be invited to indulge in a week of all things beauty at the Eaton Centre location. They were offering complimentary beauty services, skincare and makeup consultations, fragrance masterclasses, free samples, and exclusive gift-with-purchases all week long!
I’ve been doing quite a lot of shopping at Sephora lately, all thanks to the annual 20% off sale. Other than a bunch of beauty staples that I repurchase regularly, I have also branched out to brands and products I haven’t tried before so I will be sharing what I got in this post. Stay tuned over the next couple of months because I will also be reviewing them! (And let’s hope my mom doesn’t see this post or I’ll be getting a long-distance call from Hong Kong about money-management… Oops.)
2.5 years ago, I jumped on the bandwagon and went for the ombré look. After dyeing and bleaching and constantly curling my hair, my little compact styler was the saviour to all the knots and tangles. Earlier this year, I chopped my damaged hair and told myself that I will never put my hair under the same kind of stress again. My hair is on the thicker side and has a slight wave to it, but all thanks to Tangle Teezer, I can now achieve straight, glossy hair without having to use a straightener!
The National Women’s Show was held earlier this month with over 500 exhibitors, ranging from beauty and wellness to food and beverage. There were long lines for freebies and samples, and everyone (most of them were suburban moms I think?) went there to shop. As an urbanite slash millennial, even though I felt out of place, I actually quite enjoyed browsing around and ended up picking up a few beauty products myself!
The year is slowly coming to an end and I haven’t had the chance to use most of the annual insurance benefits from work. Thank god I came across this! If you didn’t know, massage therapy is included in most extended health insurance benefits. I live steps away from the Four Seasons Hotel so once I saw that they have registered massage therapists at their spa, I gave them a call and booked my appointment.
