An Introduction to Juice Beauty

I remember receiving a newsletter from Holt Renfrew about Juice Beauty’s launch event back in early July. About a week after, Gwyneth Paltrow’s appearance at the Bloor Street flagship was all over local media! I’m not one to obsess over organic or natural products, but when their counter manager reached out and asked if I’d like try out some products at their national makeup artist event, I thought to myself – why not?

If you’re also new to the brand, Juice Beauty is a beauty brand (both skincare and makeup) that only uses certified organic juices and ingredients. It’s a cruelty-free company and the products are free of all the bad stuff – parabens, sulfates, artificial colouring, synthetic fragrances, etc. The ingredients they use come from organic farmers in the States and they used recycled and sustainable material for their packaging. Sounds pretty neat!

Since I have eyelash extensions and my brows are microbladed, I didn’t get too in dept with their makeup products. I did like how light the Foundation Serum ($53) felt on my skin and would be interested to try it in the future. But what I did pick up from the event is the Phyto-Pigment Liquid Lip in Blythe ($30). After going to the Bite Beauty Lip Lab, I’ve been a little bit more aware of what I put on my lips. Since their lip products are made with certified organic ingredients and phyto-pigments, it’s not the worst if you accidentally lick it off.

What really caught my eye is their Blemish Clearing skincare line, which is designed for people with oily and acne-prone skin like me. I love that they use juice acids, a minimal amount of salicylic acid, naturally derived willow bark, etc. to help purify, detoxify and clarify the skin. They aim to reduce breakouts, clear clogged pores, and hydrate the skin with ingredients like fruits, aloe, and green tea. I tried a bunch of these products on the back of my hand and loved how they felt! I’m used to harsher products because I know they are effective. But sometimes my skin gets sensitive and needs something calming to help combat redness and sensitivity. I received deluxe samples of the SerumMask, and Peel from this line so I cannot wait to try them out.

Have you tried Juice Beauty before and what do you think about this brand? Let me know in the comments below!
