Just a heads up, I’m actually the worst at keeping new year’s resolutions. I moved to Toronto 6 years ago and every new year I would tell myself to get my driver’s license. Up to this day, all thanks to Uber, I still haven’t done my written test. With that said, I don’t want to rain on my own parade and jinx it for 2017. New year, new goals! Who cares how badly I failed in previous years, right?
BLOG AND SOCIAL MEDIA – I started blogging because of this course I was taking in the fall, but I am very determined to keep this going for as long as I can! This year, I’d like to put in more time to create content for my blog, learn more about photography, and keep a steady schedule for both my blog and social platforms, esp. my favourite – Instagram!
CULTIVATE MY HOBBIES – Playing the marimba was such a huge part of my life before university but I have barely touched my mallets the last few years. I fell in love with this beautiful solo piece a while back. Mark my words, I’ll master it by the end of 2017! (I also want to learn calligraphy, but one thing at a time…)
GET IN SHAPE – I know, I know. How typical of me. But in all seriousness, my health has been compromised the past 1.5 years because I gained 20 pounds from working full-time! For someone fairly petite, that’s a lot of weight to add to a tiny frame and honestly, I just don’t feel good about how I look. Can’t wait to explore different workout classes and learn to cook up some healthy recipes!
TIME MANAGEMENT – Starting in the new year, I will be working from home so time-management will become a challenge. I need to make sure I am productive and motivated, and that I don’t waste my time lounging around the house too much. With that said, I also have to learn to make time for my family, friends, boyfriend, and fluff balls!
TRAVEL AND EXPLORE – One thing I didn’t really get to do in 2016 was travel. Hopefully I will be able to go to Europe with my family for my birthday this year but other than of that, I would love to explore other parts of North America a as well. I was gifted some snowboarding gear for Christmas from my loved ones, so I can be sure to explore some new slopes!
